Four cool gadgets to make your cycle touring trip smoother: don’t leave home without them. Let’s be honest: We probably don’t really need most of the things that we buy specifically for a cycle touring trips. Ordinary household bits usually do the job. But there’s satisfaction to be had when you hit upon a piece of gear that works so well that you can’t imagine leaving home without it. In our preparations for the Trans-Iberian Express, we’ve been checking out various bits and bobs that will make the trip a lot easier – and we found four real gems.
ORIKASO FOLDING BOWLS: When you’re trying to pack panniers, few things are as frustrating as stuff that won’t stay flat – and plates and bowls are among the usual suspects. Enter Orikaso, a British company which has devised plates, bowls and cups using a origami-like system. When you’re ready to eat, simply bend the panels back, tuck the tabs in, and presto! You’ve got a sturdy bowl or cup. When you’re finished, pops the tabs out and open it back up to wash and store. Each piece comes complete with a recyclable protective envelope. Great value for the money! For more information: http://www.orikaso.com/Camping%20Gear/homeuk.html
