Othe useful stuff:

To my knowledge, this is the only hotel in Spain (certainly in Gerona province) designed and thought out specifically with cycle tourists in mind. The Molì del Mig (Catalan for "mill in the middle") has thirty spacious, bright rooms (as well as several stylish family-style bungalows) and an amazing location, close to the Ter River and a fifteen-minute ride from the beaches of the Mediterranean. It's also situated within an easy day's ride of picturesque towns like Pals, La Bisbal de l'Empordà and Figueres (home of the main museum of the Fundación Salvador Dalí.) High season guests are also required to stay on a half-board basis - no great imposition, considering the quality of the food and wine (all local specialities) served in the restaurant.

A great Madrid-based bookshop that has the best selection of maps, guide books and accessories for the adventure
cyclist.

Whether you're a novice tourer or an old hand at travelling by bike, Canada's Mountain Equipment Coop is the ideal place to get kitted out. Ladies of substance, take note - this is one of the few companies who sell women's cycling clothing in larger sizes. They've also got durable, affordable camping gear that you will get bored of years before you wear it out. (I still have a cycling jersey I bought in 1994 and it still looks fabulous.)
