THE SAAB – SALOMON WOMEN WILL
TRANS – IBERIAN EXPRESS
We’ve got great news for cycle tourists who are looking to take part in a new, history-making ride in the spring of 2008. SPANISH CYCLEPATHS creator Patricia Dawn Severenuk has won the 2007 SAAB - SALOMON WOMEN WILL competition for Spain.
The Trans-Iberian Express project connects many regional initiatives for tourism, such as greenways, transhumance routes and back roads all over the country, to create the first route designed specifically for cyclists. This six-week journey is a bike trip with two important differences:
• First, we’re inviting cyclists from all over the world to take part in this project. Ever wanted to travel through Spain on your bike, but you didn’t know where to go or what to see? Have you done the Camino de Santiago (the Saint James Way), and want to see more of the country?
• While biking we’re going to be marking and documenting this trip for future cyclists who choose to follow us. Once the route is done, we’ll assemble and distribute a guide that shows people where we’ve been and what we’ve done. We’ll show you how to get where we’ve been!
